Lowell Station Giving Free Gas To First Responders, Health Care Workers

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A gas station in Lowell is offering a free fill-up for first responders, health care workers, and DPW employees.

The free-gas giveaway lasts until 10 p.m. on Friday at Harry's Mobil Gas at 1460 Middlesex St.

Harry Patel said he was inspired by his daughter and nephew. Their birthdays are today and tomorrow, and their wish was to help others.

"Because all these people are risking their lives for us, so this is our duty to help out a little bit in a the community if we can," Patel said.

Charlotte is a health care worker. She said she is grateful for the generosity.

"I told him in there— I just said 'thank you so much.' I think it's great what they're doing," Charlotte said. "It kind of gives you a little boost. You know what I mean?"
