Recovered COVID-19 Patients Are Being Released From South Shore Hospital

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Some of the first patients who have recovered from coronavirus are starting to be released from South Shore Hospital.

Dr. Jerry Doshen has been on the frontline at South Shore Hospital since the start of the outbreak.

“We started out with just one or two patients a few weeks ago, and now we’re seeing 40+, 60+ patients,” Dr. Doshen said.

Now, the medical professional’s hard work and expertise is starting to pay off for some of the most severe cases.

“Had some patients with some really tough courses that were actually able to get home. And that was really gratifying to see,” Dr. Doshen said.

Most of the patients who are well enough to return home will go into quarantine for another two weeks.

Dr. Doshen said the key to recovery is getting rid of the symptoms for a few days.
