60 Out Of 92 Residents At Brewster Nursing Home Test Positive For COVID-19

BREWSTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A nursing home on Cape Cod has seen a coronavirus outbreak with more than 60 percent of residents testing positive.

At the Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 60 out of 92 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Earlier this month, the town of Brewster said they voluntarily took part in a statewide program for testing in nursing homes after several residents at their facility came down with coronavirus symptoms.

After three rounds of testing, the results are being made public. Only five residents have yet to be tested.

“Brewster Town Administration and Health Department officials are working closely with the Visiting Nurses Association and state and county agencies to ensure that residents and staff at Pleasant Bay have access to appropriate care and that precautions are taken to prevent the further spread of COVID-19,” the town said in a statement.
