LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Fire crews in Lynn responded to a multi-alarm fire in a three-story apartment building.
The fire started in the middle of the afternoon in the back of the apartment building on Sanderson Avenue.
One family member recounted the incident to WBZ NewsRadio’s Carl Stevens:
I was in the middle of taking of a nap, I heard multiple people yell, "fire!" I woke up, ran to the back hall and it was on the back porch. I got my children and the dog out, my son's father and my aunt out, and that's all I can pretty much say, it happened so fast. It was crazy, I thought I was dreaming.
Everyone is said to have gotten out safely, although the family member is not sure about the status of the family cat.
There is extensive damage to the building, especially the top floor. The cause has not been determined.
