TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities are looking for a monkey that is on the loose in Tewksbury.
Nicole Schena, with Shawsheen Animal Hospital, said that Tewksbury Police knocked on their door ask them if they'd seen a monkey around.
"It turns out there really is a monkey on the loose," Schena said. "And a lady that was walking down 38 happened to see it a couple mornings in a row and called the Tewksbury Police [Wednesday] to notify them."
The animal hospital put the monkey alert on their Facebook page, and were slammed with comments and calls.
Schena warns that the monkey is probably scared and shouldn't be approached. Monkeys can carry diseases that are fatal to human. Anyone that spots the animal is asked to call police.
The monkey may have traveled to Tewksbury all the way from Central Massachusetts. A monkey was also reported in Oxford, Mass. not long ago.
