Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for May 22, 2020

On the Front Line. Dan speaks with a Massachusetts nurse who heeded the S.O.S. from Gov. Andrew Cuomo and spent three weeks on the New York Coronavirus front line. RN Patrice Rusu survived 12 hours a day treating COVID-19 patients and is still testing negative. She is an eyewitness to the nursing home fiasco in which virus patients were reintroduced into care homes infecting the rest of the population. The virus spread like wildfire through the most vulnerable population in the state. Gov. Cuomo is blaming President Trump and the CDC. Who do you think is at fault?

Trump Says Open The Church Doors. Today President Trump declared churches and houses of worship “essential” places that provide “essential services”. He is calling on governors to open the houses of worship right now. If the governors refuse to allow the opening of worship centers, Trump says he will override the governors. Do you believe, as President Trump says, that the remained closure of places of worship, has been an injustice?

Oops He Did It Again. Presidential candidate Joe Biden had another gaffe. This time he was on the radio program “The Breakfast Club” where he was talking to host Charlamagne Tha God about his campaign run, his record on racial issues, and his consideration of a Black female running mate. It was when they were wrapping up the interview that Biden said: “You got more questions? Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t Black.” Did Biden misspeak here?
