Watch: Mayor Walsh Leads Live Prayer Vigil

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is hosting a virtual prayer vigil with members of the clergy in response to the recent "acts of violence and racism experienced throughout the United States."

The vigil comes after a night of nationwide protests over the killing of a black man, George Floyd, by a white Minnesota police officer, Derek Chauvin, on Memorial Day. Chauvin was taken into custody on Friday and now faces several charges.

Mayor Walsh will be joined by Police Commissioner William Gross, Bishop John M. Borders, III, Rev. Laura E. Everett, Rev. Matthew K. Thompson, Father Joe White, Imam Talib Mahdee, and Rev. Dr. Arlene O. Hall in the prayer vigil.

Tune into the livestream below on Saturday, May 30th starting at 12:30 p.m.
