Boston On Fire. Last night in Boston about 53 people were arrested, nine officers were transported to local hospitals, and 21 cruisers were damaged in protests that devolved into riots. The unrest began around 9 P.M. and followed peaceful protests of the death of George Floyd, the Black man who died while in police custody in Minneapolis last week. Looters started attacking storefronts and making off with goods while others vandalized police cruisers, even setting one on fire. Will these individuals be prosecuted for looting and vandalism?
Policing Changes. Former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis says police response to the riots that damaged the city Sunday night will last for days. Things turned very ugly last night forcing police to use tear gas on protesters who were reportedly throwing fireworks and other objects at officers. Davis joins Dan to talk about what changes we can expect to see over the next few weeks.
