Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for June 2, 2020

Police Under Fire. Four police officers were shot in downtown in St. Louis early Tuesday after peaceful protests turned violent. In Las Vegas a police officer was shot in the head by a rioter in body army during a protest. He was shot dead by police. A Federal Protection Service Officer was mowed down in Oakland California. In Boston 7 officers have been hospitalized as a result of street violence ostensibly in the name of George Floyd, the Minneapolis man killed in police custody. Are good cops being targeted because of four bad cops in Minnesota?

Are Rioters Stealing More Than Just Loot From Smashed Storefronts? Peaceful protests meant to honor the life and death of Minneapolis's George Floyd are being co-opted by anarchists who smash windows, loot businesses and muddy the message regarding systemic racism. Political commentator and National Review editor Deroy Murdock joins Dan to discuss if anyone is actually being helped by the chaos.

Photo Op? President Trump is once again at the center of a controversy after it is claimed police used tear gas to clear protesters from outside the White House so he could pose for photographs at a nearby church. According to witnesses, protesters were “warned 3 times over loud speaker by park service and police to clear the area,” ahead of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s 7:00 p.m. curfew. The President visited the church after the curfew. Was this an abuse of power by the President?
