Take a Knee. A number of police officers around the country, faced with advancing protesters have chosen to kneel in an effort to be non-confrontational. According to one North Carolina law enforcement department, their intention was to show understanding of the pain in the community and the nation regarding equality. They took a knee to demonstrate that they stand for justice for everyone. Do you think the police should take a knee to demonstrators?

America is Burning. During a zoom conference speech this week, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey compared the violence and riots that have swept this country after the killing of George Floyd to a forest fire that would add in new growth. During her talk, Healey described racism as a value that is “embedded” in the United States and said “Yes, America is burning. But that’s how forests grow.” Was this a tone-deaf comment or accurate?
