Waltham’s Moody Street Closes To Traffic, Opens For Dining

WALTHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Moody Street in Waltham has been closed to vehicular traffic until November 1 so that restaurants there can set up outdoor dining that complies with the Gov. Charlie Baker's reopening guidelines.

Among the restaurants on Moody Street is Jocos Bar and Kitchen, which has been open for 12 years.

"I'm definitely ready. I mean, we stayed open through and through for the past three months since St. Patrick's Day — doing takeout, delivery. And then we were allowed to do beer and wine," owner Jonathan O'Connor said. "Definitely it's exciting to at least be able to serve outside now."

Customer Paul Becker, who was at Tara Restaurant, said he was delighted to be at a restaurant.

"I wish they could do it forever, like another Faneuil Hall," Becker said.
