Boston Protestors March The Same Path As American Revolutionaries

CONCORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Protestors in Massachusetts are planning dozens of marches and demonstrations on Sunday calling for racial equality.

That includes a protest march between two historic sites in Minute Man Park, where Americans fought a decisive battle against the British at the start of the Revolutionary War.

Starting at 11 a.m., protestors left Meriam's Corner where the Battle Road trail begins, and marched to the Jacob Whitteman house, which sits just east of where Captain John Parker led the Lexington militia in fighting the retreating British in 1775.

Sunday, June 14th is also a significant date since it marks 245 years since the U.S. Army was founded.

Several other protests are planned around Boston on Sunday.

At 2:30 p.m., former Patriots tight end Benjamin Watson will lead the Boston Common Prayer Gathering at the Parkman Bandstand on the Common.

At 4 p.m. protestors in the medical field will hold another "White Coat For Black Lives" demonstration in front of Boston Public Library.

Between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., residents near Quincy are planning to gather at Wollaston Beach for a vigil and rally.
