South Shore Plaza Shooting Suspect Held Without Bail

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The man, suspected in a shooting at South Shore Plaza in Braintree on Friday, is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing later this week. He was arraigned on Monday in Quincy District Court.

Jose Rodriguez, 21, of Boston faces nine charges, including assault with intent to murder. He's accused of shooting at the South Shore Plaza during a confrontation, with one bullet striking a teenage girl who is said to be an innocent bystander.

She sustained non life-threatening wounds and she is expected to survive.

Braintree Police were on the scene in the aftermath of the shooting and have an agreement in place to have daily personnel at the plaza.
