“Hop-scotching” Into The School Year. This week, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh introduced a plan for Boston Public Schools that they are calling the “Hopscotch” plan. It is a hybrid plan that divides students into two groups. What this plan entails is that the first group physically goes to school Monday and Tuesday while the other group does remote learning. Then, they switch or “hopscotch” and the second group does in person learning Thursday and Friday while the first group does remote learning. Does this sound like a feasible plan to you?

Increased Desire For Homeschooling. With the Coronavirus still looming and a vaccine sure to not be ready before the start of the school year, many parents are weighing their options and considering homeschooling. Despite the option of remote learning and the safety measures implemented by local schools to operate in person, it’s not enough for some. Bill Heuer, the Director of the Massachusetts Home Learning Association joins Dan to discuss the increased desire for homeschooling. Is homeschooling an option for you this Fall?

Calling For A Nationwide Mask Mandate. A day after Joe Biden introduced Senator Kamala Harris as his VP pick, he came out publicly calling for a nationwide mask mandate. The Biden/Harris camp is asking all 50 governors to issue a mask mandate “now to save lives”. Biden says that for the next three months, every American should wear a mask when they are outside. What do you think about this proposal? Do you support Biden’s proposed plan?
