Miley Cyrus Mourns Death Of Grandma: 'You Will Forever Be My Inspiration'

Miley Cyrus is mourning the loss of her grandmother at the moment.

On Saturday (August 22), the pop titan, 27, took to Instagram to share a candid note dedicated to her maternal grandma, Loretta Finley, otherwise known as "Mammie," who passed away. Her cause of death has yet to be revealed.

"Even though you are gone.... NOTHING has or ever will change," the newly-single star kicked off a lengthy note, alongside a slideshow of photos and videos of Mammie, including a clip of her on the red carpet for The Last Song. "You will FOREVER be my inspiration and fashion icon." "Even more than that the ultimate model of being a true LIGHT in a dark world. You are sunshine. Everyday I wake and see that fiery ball in the sky I will see your face. Then say a prayer thanking heaven above for giving me the best grandmother a girl could ever be gifted."

"I will miss you for the rest of my life.... I will keep your spirit here by continuing to do good for others and treating them the way we all desire to be treated. With an infinite amount of the same gentle kindness you displayed daily," she continued. "We will ache everyday you are not with us…."

Cyrus also took to her Instagram Story to admit why she’s been off social media in recent days. "To my fans: I know it feels like I disappeared that last few days.... but someone that means more to me than words can say did the same," she captioned an image of her grandmother. "I am completely heart broken."

In another post, she shared a video of her performing "Miss You So Much" for her grandma. "This is a song I wrote in 2016 for my Mammie that was later released on Younger Now. I know she is in her 40's loving life with my grandad up in heaven," Cyrus added.
