CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A woman has died after a fire broke out at a single family home in Cambridge early Wednesday morning.
Cambridge Fire Department responded to the three-alarm fire at 34 Buckingham Street shortly before 5:30 a.m., where smoke was billowing from the third floor window.
The victim, believed to have been the resident of the home, was found unconscious on the second floor. CPR was administered and she was transported to a medical facility, but she did not survive.
Three firefighters were also injured while fighting the fire, they have since been released from the hospital.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan after formal identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and notification of next of kin.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
