Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for October 28, 2020

A Candidate from the Massachusetts 4th checks in... Colonel Julie Hall is running in the Massachusetts 4th district to replace the outgoing Congressman Joe Kennedy III. Julie joins Dan to talk about the MA response to COVID, economic recovery, health care, growing small business, gun control, border security, immigration, and whatever else you can think of!

Censorship and Social Media. The Senate today listened to testimony regarding the possibility of removing the law shielding internet platforms from liability for the content they host. In the hot seat were Sundar Pichai of Google, Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, and Twitter Chief Executive Jack Dorsey. They all testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation about Section 230 of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Have these social media giants been censoring conservatives? Dan discusses that question with Santa Clara University School of Law Professor Eric Goldman.

Peaceful Protests or Riots? Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf cautioned his citizens against turning peaceful protests over the death of William Wallace into riots after a night of looting and violence in which at least one police officer was deliberately mowed down by an SUV that crushed her leg. Is Gov. Wolf trying to emulate the summer of love in Seattle?
