The state DPH also reported an additional 23 deaths among confirmed cases, upping the COVID-related death toll in Massachusetts to 9,750.
Upticks have been reported in several important coronavirus health metrics over the past month. The state's three-day average number of COVID-related deaths, and the seven-day weighted average rate of positive molecular tests, have both doubled since the end of September.
There are currently 571 patients hospitalized with the virus in Massachusetts, 106 are receiving intensive care, and 47 are intubated.
According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Research Center, the U.S. has more than nine million confirmed cases of the virus and nearly 230,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 to date.
