BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The AP projects Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) has won re-election.
Shaheen defeated Corky Messner, making her the second Democrat to ever win a third Senate term in New Hampshire. “It was a campaign like no other, but it worked,” Shaheen told the crowd at an outdoor gathering in Manchester.
Messner, a newcomer to politics, tried to peg Shaheen as a career politician, while portraying himself as an independent voice who knows how to create jobs. Shaheen campaigned on her record of helping small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts to combat the opioid crisis and commitment to the Affordable Cares Act.
