Here’s How To Use Apple’s 'Secret' Button On Your iPhone

Back in September, Apple released the latest iPhone upgrade–the iOS 14. What many iPhone users don't know about this latest update, however, is that a customizable button was added to the phones.

So, where is this mystery button? It's actually on the back of your iPhone. The Back Tap button allows users to tap the back of their phones in order to perform specific tasks. In other words, this new back tap feature is a way to customize a short cut for your phone.

To enable your new Back Tap button, here's what you have to do:

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone
  • Click Accessibility > Touch
  • Scroll down until you see the Back Tap option
  • Turn on the Back Tap button
  • Select double-tap and then choose the function you want to perform

If you'd like to have more than one short cut set up, you can also select a function for when you triple-tap your phone. Some of the functions include taking a screenshot, App Switcher, Control Center, Home, Lock Screen, Mute, Notification Center, Reachability, Shake, Siri, Spotlight, Volume Down, and Volume Up.
