Early Morning Fire Engulfs Convenience Store in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An early morning fire in Brockton engulfed a convenience store and sent a burning sign crashing to the ground.

According to WBZ TV, flames broke out at Rice's Market on North Street at about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday and quickly engulfed the entire building.

An hour and a half later, as fire crews continued to battle the fire, the sign over the front of the building came crashing to the ground.

There are no reports of injuries at this time. The fire is still under investigation and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

WBZ TV reports parts of North Main Street and Emerson Avenue were shut down for crews battling the fire.
