AG Healey Warns Residents About COVID Vaccine Scams

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) - Attorney General Maura Healey says now that the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is underway, scammers could try to target Mass. residents who are desperate to get vaccinated. Healthcare providers Blue Cross Blue Shield and Tufts Health Plan are alerting their members about scammers asking for money in exchange for early access to the vaccine.

There is currently no pre-registration for vaccinations in Massachusetts.

Some scams are asking for personal information. "The CDC is not going to be calling you, ever, looking for your personal information," Healey said. Healey also said to be on the lookout for requests for payment for the vaccine, saying residents don't need to pay for the shots.
