Worker Injured At Needham Construction Site

NEEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A construction worker was injured at Needham’s new Public Safety Complex in Needham on Friday.

The worker fell off a beam about 15 to 20 feet into a pit around 8:30 a.m., according to the Needham Fire Chief Dennis Condon.

They’re putting up steel at the public safety complex on the police wing and he was part of that process,” Condon explained. “He was on a piece of steel and he fell into the pit.”

Boston Technical Rescue helped the worker out and was then airlifted to a local hospital.

This is the third construction accident in the Greater Boston Area in the last week.

The worker is facing non-life-threatening injuries; he reported to have back pain and cuts on his face, but was conscious.
