Memorial Day Events Planned Across Massachusetts for Monday

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Despite the rainy forecast, there will be no shortage of events to attend this Memorial Day. That includes parades, memorials, and other celebrations of the nation's military forces.

Parades and processions will be held in Newton, Stoneham, Plymouth, to name a few.

Ceremonies and Tributes:

The USS Constitution will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony, and is live-streaming the event on the ship's Facebook page at 11:30 AM.

Watertown will have an in-person ceremony at 11:00 AM, and Cambridge will air a virtual remembrance video at that time.

In Worcester, special tributes are being held in several locations at different times at Hope Cemetery, the Massachusetts Vietnam Memorial, and also at the Korean War Memorial

All-Weekend Events:

The annual Massachusetts Military Heroes Garden of Flags will be up on Memorial Day in Boston Common. The iconic display is planted every year to commemorate every fallen member of the military from Massachusetts, and features 37,000 flags.

At the National Cemetery in Bourne, Operation Flags for Vets have placed over 77,000 flags that will stay up until June 6.
