BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – A man in his 30s was shot dead in Egleston Square in Jamaica Plain on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred just before 3:00 pm in the area of Washington Street. The man was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Boston Police responded to the scene where multiple surveillance cameras caught footage of the shooting.

The footage, from a tow truck, showed a masked man firing multiple shots at a Honda Accord and blowing out the driver’s side window.

Shortly after, another surveillance camera caught the same masked man running down Washington Street and then turning onto School Street before disappearing.

Boston Police did not believe the shooting was random and that the suspect targeted the victim.

"This is a middle-of-the-day, brazen shooting," Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said. "This is a vibrant community, hard-working people work here, and they deserve to be safe."

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
