WARWICK, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Quick action by several local fire departments helped save a horse that fell through the ice in the Central Mass. town of Warwick on Wednesday.

Warwick Fire got the call about the horse on Wednesday morning, and responded to a pond off White Road with the Orange and Royalston Fire Department.

After getting cold water suits on, Warwick firefighters got into the pond and crawled out onto the thin ice. They started breaking a path through the ice to get the horse out using ropes.
