MEDFORD, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - As Massachusetts prepares for a potential weekend blizzard, many businesses are also gearing up, stocking the shelves and getting ready to welcome the crowds all in search of their 'milk and bread'.

And with scattered power outages a very real possibility, National Grid says they're "ready to handle whatever this storm may bring", and say they're preparing their employees and securing external resources.

Eversource says they're looking at hiring hundreds of extra crews ahead of Saturday's storm and can scale up or down depending on the direction the storm takes. Eversource also urging people to make sure they have a storm safety kit ready to go.
