BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - A second location of a vegan pub is coming to the Fenway, offering plant-based hot-dogs, pizza, burgers and ice cream.

PlantPub will take over the former BeerWorks space on Brookline Avenue, with owners Pat McAuley and Mary Dumont teaming up with celebrity vegan chef Matthew Kenney to open the place.

"The food and the menu and the whole concept is not necessarily for specifically vegans or vegetarians or somebody that's having a meatless Monday it's for everybody." Dumont tells WBZ's Suzanne Sausville.

PlantPub, which bills itself as “100% plant based,” currently has a restaurant in Cambridge’s Kendall Square. The Fenway spot will have more than 250 seats, and plenty of beer and cocktail choices.

"We want to bring plant based food to the mainstream and we think it's time. If we can do it at doorstep of Fenway in Boston, then we can do it anywhere." McAuley said.
