Police Investigate Death Of Man Found In Paxton As Homicide

PAXTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A body found in Paxton on Saturday is being investigated as a homicide, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said in a statement to WBZ NewsRadio.

Officials identified the man as 29-year-old Ernest Appiah of Worcester, and said they discovered his remains just before 7 a.m. on Saturday in the woods off Asnebumskit Road after a resident called in. According to police, Appiah's body was located about 25 feet from the road.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Appiah's death as a homicide, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said on Monday.

Officials asked that anyone with information related to the case call the State Police Detectives at 508-832-9124. The D.A's office said that the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Paxton Police Department, State Police Crime Scene Services and Crime Lab, State Police K-9 Unit, and the State Police Special Emergency Response Team.
