CHATHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A resort on Cape Cod earns a prestigious prize.

The Chatham Bars Inn was named to the Conde Nast Traveler Magazine's 2022 Gold List which consists of the 45 best hotels and resorts from all across the world. This marks the first time the resort has made the list after earning reader's choice awards from 2017 to 2021.

Sales Manager Simon Rodrigues told WBZ's Kim Tunnicliffe the main building of the resort was built back in 1914 as a hunter's lodge. Now the resort boasts 217 rooms, three private residences, an outdoor pool, and a zen garden.

"We sit on 25 acres of the Atlantic Ocean with over a quarter-mile of private beach," Rodrigues said. "We have our own fleet of boats so people can be shuttled over to North Beach or go out fishing lobstering or whale watching."

The resort has two restaurants and an eight-acre private farm that Rodrigues said helps supply their kitchens.

"All of our produce in season that is served at our restaurant comes from the farm," Rodrigues said.

Traveler Magazine praised the Inn saying it is a "little slice of heaven on the beach" and that "this is what you picture when you dream of a country inn."
