PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One of our most famous local attractions is getting some unattractive reviews online.
Reddit users weighed in on the prompt 'what famous place is not worth visiting?' this week. Some 30,000 comments later, the top three let-downs were the Egyptian pyramids, New York City's Times Square on New Years Eve, and ... Plymouth Rock.
In America's Hometown, some visitors admit the rock falls flat.
Susan from California told WBZ NewsRadio's Matt Shearer she's feeling a bit underwhelmed. "I've never seen it before, and everyone says you gotta go see Plymouth Rock."
"I thought it would be a little more impressive," Cheryl, a tourist from Phoenix, said.
"The pictures you think it's like this huge rock, you know, and then you come here and you're, like 'oh okay,'" said Josh from San Francisco. Josh brought his wife all the way to Plymouth for their anniversary.
"I've been to, like, the Taj Mahal. I've been to a lot of different places," he said. "And nothing is quite as disappointing as coming and seeing this."
