SALEM (WBZNewsRadio) - It's that time of year again, the sun is shining, the beach is calling and there's nothing better than a perfect scoop of ice cream. You can forget the vanilla this year, as an ice cream shop in Salem is jumping on the strange flavor trend and offering their unusual and unique concoctions.
Owner of Melt, Erin Pezzulo isn't just an ice cream maker, but a former scientist and spends her days creating home-made flavors made for those of us feeling a little more daring. The flavors are in constant rotation and there's something for the whole family.
"I made a lobster ice cream before and it was phenomenal." She told WBZ's Brooke McCarthy.
Lobster is just one of the rotating flavors at Melt. Pezzulo's favorite is her own E.W. Hobbs buttered popcorn. Other flavors on tap? There's Earl Grey with Cardamom & Pistachios, Peeps, and Swilling Me Softly, made with a stout from East Regiment Beer Company, a local brewery.
