NANTUCKET (WBZNewsRadio) - They're back. Massachusetts' first white shark sighting of the season has been confirmed by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

The great white was spotted just off the beach from Great Point Lighthouse on Nantucket on Sunday. The conservancy shared video of the sighting on their Twitter page on Memorial Day.

Now that sharks have returned to the waters of Massachusetts, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy is encouraging beachgoers to share their shark sightings through the newly expanded Sharktivity app. In a collaboration with the New England Aquarium, shark sightings reported via the app will be verified by the experts. Those verified white shark sightings will then inform app users in real time the approximate location of these carnivores.
