BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — DW Field Park is more than a golf course, there are acres and acres of space. Now, the city of Brockton is now looking to transform and modernize the space.

"It's going to be a game changer," Mayor Robert Sullivan said.

The city is refurbishing trails, as well as adding new benches and a new cobblestone welcoming center. They also plan on adding more activities like movies nights for families and guided tours of Memorial Tower.

"The really exciting part is the outreach," Tim Carpenter, Parks Superintendent, told WBZ's Chris Fama. "They are engaging with multiple community organizations, including the schools in the city, to create, what I'm hoping is a long-term investment by the citizens of Brockton in the park."
