BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - It was the first time the Warriors had lost at home in the playoffs, but the Celtics came through with a win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night.
It was quite the game as the Boston Celtics took on the Golden State with a 120-108 victory.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the Warriors held a 12-point lead, but that's when the Celtics turned things around and stole a Game 1 victory. During that exhilarating fourth quarter, the Celtics won with a17-0 run, which is the second-largest spurt in the closing frame of a Finals game over the past 50 seasons.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling just to be here and competing at this level against such a dynamic franchise the last couple years,” Celtics guard Payton Pritchard said. “I think we’re all just looking forward to the challenge to go through the series and try to get it done.”
Game 2 is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET Sunday at Chase Center.
