Stroller Mamas Strut Their Stuff On Boston Common

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A unique fitness class is pushing its through Boston Common.

New moms in and around the city are invited to work out with their babies, doing lunges with strollers in tow.

Strong Stroller Mamas Boston was created by Juliana Galante, a doctor of physical therapy and fitness instructor, and occupational therapist Dana Solomon.

Dr. Galante says it's important to give new moms a sense of community. "Going through a pregnancy is an amazing change to your body, but sometimes it feels tough getting back after a pregnancy, so we're here to support you," Dr. Juliana Galante, she said.

The class meets Wednesday mornings on Boston Common for a 45-minute workout, and is advertised as a "judgment free zone for all crying babies, toddler tantrums, unpredictable feedings, or other things kiddos bring along."

"We want to include your children, we want you to feel supported during your early months postpartum," said Dr. Galante. "We want you to get strong with us."
