CENTERVILLE (WBZNewsRadio) - Three teenagers from new York are being called 'incredibly heroic' after saving the life of another while fishing in the Centerville River Wednesday.
"Me and my friends were fishing and these kids came off and wanted to go bridge jumping." 14-year-old Will Anagnos told WBZ's Tim Dunn. "And jumped off the bridge after one of the kids got pushed. And he started bobbing up and down in the water then he went under water and I jumped in and I grabbed him."
Fire officials are calling it an 'incredible rescue' and are now crediting Will for saving the 15-year-old's life.
"Two boys jumped in the water and rescued him while the third one stayed on the bridge and made sure everyone was safe." Captain Chris Adams of Centerville Fire said.
The teen was unconscious when they pulled him from the water and treated by beach staff until first responders arrived. He was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where his condition is unknown.
