BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Rowdy the cat is being cared for at the Animal Rescue League in Boston after being found safe and sound. The cat had been missing at Logan Airport for nearly three weeks.
The search for Rowdy began shortly after her family's flight arrived in Boston on June 24, from Germany. The four year old feline got out of her cat carrier, disappearing into the airport.
Massport staff members jumped into action, setting up wildlife cameras around Terminal E in areas where the cat had previously been spotted. Safe release animal traps were also set up around the airport.
"Searching for Rowdy became a community effort, with everyone from construction workers to airline staff constantly on the lookout hoping for a positive outcome," a Massport spokesperson said in a statement.
This past Wednesday, Rowdy was finally taken into custody.
"Whether out of fatigue or hunger we'll never know, but this morning she finally let herself be caught," Massport wrote.
Rowdy will soon be reunited with her family.
