Quincy Veteran's Stadium Gets a Facelift

QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Construction crews are at work on Hancock Street in Quincy, restoring the brick and granite wall around Veteran's Memorial Field in Quincy.

The stadium represents 85 years worth of football, soccer, hockey, and lacrosse games, but it's in need of repair.

"It's a very classic building. It's got a lot of history," said one resident. "The mayor, I think, is very invested in the parks and fields for the kids, which is a big plus," said another Quincy native.

In all, $500,000 will be invested into the project, working on the wall that's surrounded the stadium since the 1930's. The work is expected to last through the fall.
