BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts is parched, with most of the state in a critical-level drought. This afternoon, however, things may take a turn.
For the most part, we'll see sun and clouds for our Friday. It'll be humid, with temps in the upper 80's to 90. But late this afternoon and this evening, a couple showers and thunderstorms crossing the area can produce damaging wind gusts and flooding downpours.
It's not expected to last too long. Later tonight looks sticky but partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping into the 60's.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we can't rule out an afternoon thunderstorm for Saturday, mainly South of Boston. The high will be close to 80.
We'll have some sunshine for Sunday, high 75-80.
