MARBLEHEAD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Town of Marblehead Historical Commission is on the search for old local shop signs to be used in an updated Sign Museum.

The museum was once located in the basement of Abbot Hall but was dismantled during a renovation. Now, Chris Butler and Dick Carlson are on a mission to recreate the museum.

"Our attempt now is to put the sign museum back together but maybe in a more cohesive way," Carlson told WBZ NewsRadio's Brooke McCarthy.

So far, they have signs from old Elementary Schools, the Elks and the Richard Price Yacht Yard, among others.

If you have a sign that you are willing to donate to the Historical Commission for the project, please e-mail historic@marblehead.org with your contact information and any information about the sign.
