BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - It's another battle between the North Shore and South Shore of Massachusetts, this time it all comes down to pizza.
The North Shore swears by their 'beach pizza', it's cut into thin squares and topped with a slice of provolone cheese. The locals have a very strict, 'don't knock it until you try it' mentality.
"I don't think you're living if you don't try some beach pizza, with the provolone." One North Shore resident told WBZ's Matt Shearer.
But on the South Shore, 'bar pizza' reigns supreme. It's crust is buttery and cracker-thin, with a mixture of cheddar and mozzarella stretching all the way to the outer reaches of the dough.
WBZ's Matt Shearer grabbed a beach pie and headed to the South Shore to see if the locals would give it a try.
"It's a rivalry like the Sox and the Yankees." One South Shore resident said as he took a bite of the 'beach pizza.'
Whether you're a 'bar pizza' or 'beach pizza' type of person, one thing is for certain, there's something for everyone in Massachusetts.
