BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - A major water main break in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood closed multiple streets Friday morning.

The water main break is in the area of 660 Washington Street and Kneeland Street, not far from the Chinatown MBTA stop and Tufts Medical Center.

Water could be seen rushing into the streets as the Boston Fire department worked to shut down the leak.

Roads in the area have been shut down, and motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

WBZ's Mike Macklin reports.
