Vince Wilfork Comes Back To Mass. For Patriots Hall of Fame Induction

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots fans are celebrating on Saturday as Super Bowl champion Vince Wilfork is inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. The Patriots are hosting the 2022 Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday at 4 P.M.

The annual ceremony is being held outside at the Enel Plaza at Gillette Stadium. The event is free and open for fans of all ages to attend, according to Gillette Stadium. Wilfork will also be honored at a halftime ceremony during the Patriots game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, September 25.

Fans voted Wilfork into the Hall of Fame in the first year he became eligible making him the 32nd inductee. There have only been five players before him that were also voted by fans to be inducted in their first eligible year, according to Gillette Stadium. He will be joining Drew Bledsoe, Troy Brown, Tedy Bruschi, Ty Law, and Kevin Faulk in the Patriots Hall of Fame. 

Wilfork played in the NFL for 13 seasons, spending 11 of which with the New England Patriots between 2004 and 2014. Before he retired in 2016, he spent his last two seasons with the Houston Texans. He helped the Patriots bring home two Super Bowl victories in the 2004 and 2014 NFL seasons alongside Tom Brady.
