Topsfield Massive Pumpkin Breaks Record At 38th Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off

TOPSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Records were broken with intensity in the air as the giant pumpkins were lowered onto the scale at the 38th annual All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off on Friday.

Tyngsboro resident, Jamie Graham, broke the Topsfield Fair record for biggest homegrown pumpkin with his pumpkin topping scales at 2,480 pounds. The previous pumpkin record at the New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Contest was 2,294.5 pounds set by Alex Noel of Abington, Connecticut.

Noel came in second place at this year’s contest with a pumpkin weighing 2,234 pounds. In third place, Topsfield native, Woody Lancaster, brought in a 1850-pound pumpkin.

Graham received a giant check for $8,522 as the winner of this year's contest.

On Saturday, event-goers can watch the Dock Dogs as they jump into the air and perform tricks for a prize. This year is the 204th annual Topsfield Fair and will be held for the public to enjoy until October 10. General admission tickets are available for purchase online starting at $20.
