WRENTHAM (WBZNewsRadio) - A trio of towns in Massachusetts have partnered to launch when they're calling a new "destination brand" and website. With the motto "Stay a little longer, play a little more", Foxboro, Wrentham and Plainville are hoping to bring more people to their neck of the woods for multiple days at a time.
Each town is already known for at least one attraction. Plainville has the Plainridge Park Casino, Wrentham has the Wrentham Village Premium Outlet Mall and of course Foxboro has Gillette Stadium, but officials say there is so much more.
Rachel Benson is Wrentham's Director of planning and economic development and says when most people think of Wrentham, only the outlets come to mind.
"There's so much more, we've got Hawkins Woods disk golf, we've got the unlikely story, hiking trails in both Foxboro, Wrentham. When you think of Foxboro, you think of the stadium, there's so much more to there as well, they've got a beautiful downtown. So it's just trying to get people out here for multiple day stays." She said.
The initiative was supported by grants provided by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism.
