BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Friday had been the day everyone was waiting for, public ticket sales were set to go live for Taylor Swift's upcoming Eras Tour.

Unfortunately Ticketmaster released a statement Thursday saying "due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand," Friday's public ticket sale has been canceled.

Fans have now been left in the lurch after trying to purchase tickets earlier this week during a Fan pre-sale event, spending hours in the virtual queues to end up with nothing. Ticketmaster said that more than two million tickets were sold in Tuesday's event. It's the most tickets sold for an artist in a single day.

As fans began planning to find their tickets elsewhere, Boston Police came out with a warning regarding fake tickets and scams.

Katherine and her friends are out of luck after trying to buy tickets Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

"I was just like stuck waiting in line the entire day, then we got kicked out. That happened two days in a row." She told WBZ's James Rojas. "I've kind of given up on the hope of getting a ticket."

Swift is set to perform at Gillette Stadium on May 19, 20 and 21.
