SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For the third annual "Career Closet" at Salem State University, students were offered new and barely-used professional attire at no cost to them to blow away job recruiters during interviews.
The event on Wednesday had racks and racks of clothing for students to choose from, with over 1,500 pieces in all different styles and sizes. The first hundred students that arrived received prep portfolios to bring with them to their interviews, along with free professional headshots.
This comes ahead of the school's Spring Job & Internship Fair on April 5.

WBZ's Brooke McCarthy went to check out what the threads the school had on display, speaking with Erin Ahart with Career Services.
"It's really easy for students to find their jackets, blazers, pants suits— everything they need for an interview, feel comfortable and confident in what they have to bring to the table. It's kind of educational, which is my favorite part about it, so students understand 'okay, so this is what I should be wearing,'" Ahart said.
In addition to helping students dress the part, school officials were also on scene to give interviewing tips to those who wanted them.
