127th Boston Marathon: Men's and Women's Wheelchair Race Winners

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The 127th Boston marathon is well underway, and the titles have been claimed in the Men's and Women's Wheelchair Races.

Marcel Hug, the so-called Swiss Silver Bullet, won his sixth Boston Marathon in just 1:17:06, breaking the course record in Boston.

American Daniel Romanchuck came in second place ten minutes later, with Jetze Plat of Amsterdam in third.

In the Women's Wheelchair Race, American gold-medal paralympian Susannah Scaroni claimed the title, with a time of 1:41:45.

Just over a minute later, Australian Madison de Rozario crossed over the finish line for a second place win. Tsuchida Wakako of Japan claimed third.
