WEST NEWBURY, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Students in Pentucket Regional High School's music program are getting recognized for their magical musical performance at Festival Disney.
Music students visited Walt Disney World April 12-16 for the annual festival, which gives middle school and high school concert choirs, orchestras, concert bands and soloists around the country to compete, all while making lasting memories at 'the most magical place on earth.'
"The chance to compete and be recognized at Festival Disney is extremely impressive," said Superintendent Justin Bartholomew. "Our students demonstrated their professionalism, skill, and great talent while at the conference. We are all very proud of their accomplishments thus far and cannot wait to see what they will do in the future. Congratulations!"
Pentucket students took part in the Solo & Ensemble thread, which gives individuals and small ensembles the chance to highlight their talents and gain valuable feedback.
Ahead of the festival, junior and jazz saxophone soloist Chaney Goldstein, the saxophone quartet, and the jazz combo all submitted recordings to be judged. Goldstein was awarded a Distinguished Performance Medal for his performance. Pentucket's saxophone quartet was also given a Distinguished Performance Medal for their performance.
